In ‘Vaya con Dios’, Antonio Andrade invites us on a musical journey that crosses borders and centuries, exploring the soul of flamenco and its roots in the cultural melting pot of Al-Andalus where, for centuries, Christians, Muslims and Jews coexisted peacefully.

Vaya con Dios’ celebrates flamenco as a symbol of diversity and union of the soul of all human beings.

In Al-Andalus, that unique space of cultural encounter, we find the first seeds of flamenco as an expression that combines influences from diverse cultures that enriched its history and made it universal.

Accompanied by jazz musician ‘Sigi Finkel’, Antonio creates a fascinating dialogue between instruments and cultures: percussions, wind instruments, castanets and cajón intertwine with the magical strings of the flamenco guitar.

This meeting of sounds gives life to a show where every note and every instrument evokes the influences of India, Africa, South America and Cuba, as well as the Arab legacy that left its indelible mark on Andalusia.

RAMÓN OLLER, artistic director
was born in Esparraguera, Barcelona.

He studied dramaturgy at the ‘Instituto del Teatro de Barcelona’ and trained in dance and ballet in Barcelona, London and Paris. Since 1984 he has created more than 22 plays and has worked with various international companies. He collaborates regularly with the ‘Ballet Hispánico de Nueva York’ and has worked with choreographers such as ‘Nacho Duato’, ‘Cristina Hoyos’, and directors such as ‘Calixto Bieito’.
