“Flamenco Meets Tango” is an exceptional artistic encounter that unites two cultures separated by oceans but connected by a shared passion and history. From Seville, the cradle of flamenco, to Buenos Aires, the heart of tango, this performance celebrates the richness of two art forms that transform human emotions into music and dance.
Premiered worldwide at the Royal Opera House Muscat (ROHM) in 2022, Flamenco Meets Tango combines the mastery of the Antonio Andrade Flamenco Company with the Buenos Aires-based Quinteto Cinco Esquinas and the powerful stage presence of Tango Legends, an acclaimed group of tango dancers.
On stage, 9 musicians and 14 dancers come together in an unprecedented, vibrant, and deeply moving performance. Flamenco, with its visceral intensity, unfolds through footwork, turns, and powerful, passionate movements, while tango brings the elegance and sensuality of its intertwined steps, creating a fascinating contrast.
The dancers not only embody their individual traditions but also cross paths and engage in a rich dialogue, weaving moments of fusion that highlight the similarities and complementarity of both dance forms.
